PROCEEDINGS

The organizing committee of NCAFM-2008 and IOP Publishing have agreed that two separate and distinct publications will be produced:

The objective is to create proceedings that record work presented at NCAFM-2008 and a Topical Issue whose scope will build on NCAFM-2008, reaching out into the wider community, to reflect many of the cutting edge and exciting developments in our field. Specific publication details are as follows.

Topical Issue “High-resolution Non-contact Atomic Force Microscopy” of the journal Nanotechnology

Papers appearing in the Topical Issue are required to have the high standards regarding scientific content and novelty of Nanotechnology. The objective is to create an editorially balanced, high quality journal issue that reflects the most interesting and innovative work in the field.

Authors that want to contribute a paper to the Topical Issue should send an email to the organizers (ncafm2008@uam.es) including the tentative title, a short summary of the content (few sentences) as well as the expected length (not exceeding 5-7 journal pages). Given that the number of papers that can be included in the Topical Issue is limited, contributions accepted as talks at the conference will be given first priority if too many submissions are committed. Both the journal Nanotechnology and the conference organizing committee will work together to prepare the final list of authors that will be invited to contribute.

Submitting to the Topical Issue

Authors invited to contribute a paper will be contacted with submission details and links to the appropriate templates and guidelines.

Submission deadline

The submission deadline for the Topical Issue is 10 weeks after the conference (December 1st 2008). Publication is expected in winter/early spring 2009.

Open access proceedings in Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS)

Designed specifically to capture just the work presented at NCAFM-2008, the JPCS proceedings offer all conference participants the possibility to contribute an article. All papers published in JPCS are fully citable and upon publication will be free to download.

Submitting to the proceedings

Contributions to the Journal of Physics: Conference Series proceedings should be submitted to the NCAFM-2008 proceedings editors via e-mail at ncafm2008@uam.es. The proceedings editors will arrange peer review and coordinate submission to JPCS. Please do not send contributed papers directly to JPCS.

Submission deadline

The submission deadline for the Proceedings is 6 weeks after the conference (November 4th 2008). Online Publication typically occurs 4-6 weeks after receiving the final files.

Preparing your proceedings paper

Journal of Physics: Conference Series will use your final accepted PDF file for online publication, so please use the JPCS guidelines and templates provided below.
